You know it is a party when a Viking shows up to race the night time 50 race. Oh man. And this was Friday night...
The day couldn't have been better, blue skies, cool temperatures and race gas in the air. The crowds were big and the gates were full.
After serious testing we have determined that the 2001 model year Honda XR 50 is NOT, we repeat NOT, fire proof. But we were very impressed with the fact that it started with one kick after this incident. Jumping fires on a 50 is not recommended. You should see the rider... Genius!

Paul Veracka had a pretty good day - coming in as the bride's maid behind Tony Lorusso in both the 125 and 250 mains. Not bad though - pocketing $700 in cash for his efforts. Good thing he didn't go to Washougal.
