Motocross Park Design for Ski Areas

What is a Motocross Park?

A Motocross Park can be compared to a snowboard or terrain park, but for Motocross bikes, with a little more. It can include tracks both competition and practice, a freestyle pit (most similar to a terrain park), ATV tracks, Enduro trails, and training areas.

Why do I want it?

Three Reasons:

1. Motocross is the hottest trend in the action sports industry right now.

2. Motocross is more family oriented than most of the popular winter sports your resort already features.

3. It is a huge crossover sport for snowboarders and skiers.

Ski Areas are looking for summer business and this is a great opportunity for the Motocross industry to attract new people into the sport. There has never been a better opportunity to make the sport more accessible to the general public. Resorts are used to daily grooming of their facilities, have first aid on the premises, and have plenty of water and the means to distribute it to the riding areas to make the Parks a world class arena for training and racing.

Generation Y is bigger than the baby boom, and these kids don't just want to sit at home in the off season. Motocross defines the 12-24 market of today. Actually, kids are starting to ride (and compete) as young as four years old.

Parents ride too. Have you been to your local race track lately? Families are there. Mom, Dad, and the kids - all racing. In fact, the women's category has been the fast growing segment of the motocross industry lately.

This is big business.
